I’ve had a torrid love affair for decades. It feeds my soul, my cravings, and my need for a little sugar. It is good for my health. My love affair is with dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is so good to me. In one of my current favorites listed below, you can see it has as much fiber as some fiber gummy supplements at 2gm per serving. It has protein. When the chocolate is dark enough, the protein content will be 1-2gm per serving. Look for chocolate that is at least 70% cacao. It has more antioxidant power than blueberries, and it is high in nutrients like copper. Best of all, a little goes a long way. It’s so rich that it’s hard to eat a lot of it. Don’t get me wrong, it can be done, but usually a couple of squares hits the spot. Make sure you stock your commandeered cupboard with some dark chocolate.
