Exercise when and where you can and get bonus points if you embarrass your kids while doing it. School sports practices start next week at our house. That means a lot of running. Do you find that you barely get home from dropping off before you’re out the door to run for pick-up? Stop the cycle and get your exercise routine back by hitting your feet when you drop your kid off. Go for a walk or a run or throw your bike in the back of your vehicle and go for a ride while your kid practices. I want pictures if anyone dares to haul out their rollerblades. Good news is that not only will you gain fitness, but your kids will gain humility. Win-win.
If you don’t have kids but find yourself glued to the couch once you’re in the door after work, plan a workout for immediately after work, on the way home, or as soon as you get in the driveway. Put your sneakers in the car and head out for your walk before you walk in your door.
